Generate production-ready Dockerfiles for Node.js, Python, Go, Java, Ruby, PHP, Rust, and .NET. Includes multi-stage builds, security best practices, and optimization tips.
Our free Dockerfile Generator helps developers create production-ready container images in seconds. Choose your tech stack, configure options, and get an optimized Dockerfile with security best practices built in. Supports multi-stage builds, non-root users, health checks, and Alpine Linux bases for minimal image sizes.
A multi-stage build uses multiple FROM statements in a Dockerfile. The first stage includes all build tools and dependencies needed to compile your application. The final stage only copies the built artifacts into a minimal runtime image. This dramatically reduces the final image size and attack surface.
Alpine Linux is a security-oriented, lightweight distribution (around 5MB). Using Alpine-based images significantly reduces your container size, startup time, and attack surface compared to full Debian or Ubuntu-based images.
Running containers as root is a security risk. If an attacker compromises your application, they gain root access inside the container. Using a dedicated non-root user limits the potential damage and follows the principle of least privilege.
Save the output as a file named Dockerfile in your project root. Then run docker build -t myapp . to build the image and docker run -p 3000:3000 myapp to run it. Make sure Docker is installed on your machine.
