Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between HIIT and Tabata?

HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) is a broad category of workouts that alternate between intense bursts and recovery periods. Tabata is a specific HIIT protocol: 20 seconds of maximum effort followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated 8 times for 4 minutes total. It was developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata and is known for being extremely efficient.

What is EMOM training?

EMOM stands for "Every Minute On the Minute." You perform a set number of repetitions of an exercise at the start of each minute, then rest for the remainder of that minute. For example, if it takes 30 seconds to complete 10 reps, you get 30 seconds of rest before the next minute starts.

Can I use this timer without sound?

Yes! You can disable sound alerts in the settings. The timer still provides clear visual cues with color coding (green for work, red for rest, blue for warm-up/cool-down) and large countdown numbers.

Does the timer work offline?

Yes, once the page is loaded, the timer runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No internet connection is needed during your workout.

How accurate are the calorie estimates?

The calorie estimate is a rough approximation based on typical MET values for interval training. Actual calories burned depend on your body weight, intensity level, and exercise type. For accurate tracking, use a heart rate monitor or fitness tracker.
